Hi, I’m Herbert Backhausen, the founder and developer of Smooth Traveling. As a seasoned software consultant who has worked with major companies, I’ve traveled to 31 countries across 6 continents.
My love of travel has taken me to incredible places and created memories I wouldn’t want to miss. Those experiences shaped the person I am today.
I always planned my own trips—but it was a lot of work. Airline, car-rental, restaurant, and activity websites took hours of planning and coordination, especially when I wasn’t traveling alone.
That’s why I created Smooth Traveling: a comprehensive planning platform from start to finish, and beyond—a place to plan, experience, and relive every trip.
